Car-buying tips offered March 31

Learn the ins and outs of buying a car, thanks to the Chatham-Kent Public Library.

On March 31, the library is running informative webinar presented by the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), the regulator of motor vehicle sales in Ontario.

Personnel will educate webinar attendees on how people looking to buy a vehicle can arm themselves with information and research what could be one of the biggest financial commitments they will ever make.

People can attend in person or online. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A representative from OMVIC will provide resources and tips for buying new and used cars in Ontario. Learn what your rights are, what to watch out for, and how OMVIC helps ensure a fair and transparent marketplace.

Tips on whether to buy or lease, how to avoid fraud, how quickly vehicles can depreciate in value versus the cost of a loan, and more will be covered.

Join online (through Zoom) or in person at Chatham, Blenheim, Merlin, Ridgetown or Tilbury library branches.

Register by contacting your local branch, or by calling 519-354-2940. For those registering for the virtual program, a zoom link will be shared.
