
A Thursday afternoon apartment fire has left four people displaced.
Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue got the call about 5:40 p.m. for a fire at 140 King St. E. in Chatham, a three-unit residential building.
Crews arrived to see smoke and flames coming from the rear apartment of the building.
Firefighters quickly connected to a nearby fire hydrant and began attacking the blaze.
Officials said the team had the fire under control in a matter of minutes.
No one was injured in the fire, but four people are at least temporarily without a home.
Damage is estimated at $180,000.
The cause is as of yet undetermined,
