Scary moments at Park Ave. E. business

A man faces several charges after police say someone brandished a knife Sunday evening at a Park Avenue East business in Chatham.

Police actually responded to a 911 hang-up call from the business shortly after 5 p.m.

Investigations revealed that a verbal altercation escalated, and someone pulled out a knife, threatening others. Police say the suspect pursued one person outside the business.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect.

A 62-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Assault

A Chatham man has a court date after police charged him with assault over the weekend.

Police say officers investigated an incident on Saturday in Chatham. A man and woman were in a vehicle and they began arguing. It turned physical, police say.

The woman required medical attention and was taken to hospital.

The next day, police arrested and charged a 47-year-old Chatham man for assault.
