Another $442K to C-K by OLG

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s coffers are $441,738 richer courtesy of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

That’s how much the municipality earned in the third quarter of 2025 for hosting Cascades Casino Chatham.

To date in the OLG’s fiscal year (April 1 2025 to March 31 2026), Chatham-Kent has received close to $1.4 million for hosting the gaming centre. Since The Slots in Dresden opened in April 2001 and were later replaced by Cascades Casino in 2019, OLG payments to C-K have topped $20 million.

According to Chatham-Kent–Leamington MPP Trevor Jones, revenue from Cascades Casino Chatham has been an important source of funding for Chatham-Kent.

“Host communities benefit from their share of local casino revenue, while all Ontarians benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues, as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in communities across the province,” Jones said in a media release.

Municipalities across Ontario receive funding from the OLG based on a Municipality Contribution Agreement formula, ensuring equity across the board.

OLG is proud to share the proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including enhancing infrastructure and job creation, according to a media release.
