
Drink up, go to jail
A Walpole Island man is facing charges after someone walked into the LCBO on Monday afternoon and guzzled down a beverage.
Police say the man was told to leave the store, but he later returned, grabbed some more alcohol and walked out without paying for it.
Officers found the suspect a short distance away and slapped on the handcuffs.
A 30-year-old Walpole Island man is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Forcible confinement
Here’s something you don’t see every day: A woman faces domestic-violence-related charges, including forcible confinement, in connection with an incident that took place 10 days ago.
On the afternoon of Jan. 3, officers responded to a report of domestic violence at a Tilbury residence. Investigations revealed an argument turned physical and a woman forcibly confined the victim, a 27-year-old man.
A warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest. On Monday, police located the accused and made their arrest.
A 32-year-old Tilbury woman is charged with assault and forcible confinement.
Get out, or get arrested
Police arrested a local man at seven minutes to midnight Monday for causing a disturbance at a Grand Avenue business in Chatham.
The call came in for an unwanted customer. Police say the man was yelling, throwing items and refusing to leave.
A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with trespassing.
