A Chatham man has to answer to charges after a roadside stop Wednesday night revealed weapons.
Police pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Park Street and William Street about 11:40 p.m.
During the investigation, officers discovered one of the occupants of the vehicle was in possession of a BB gun and a knife, which was in breach of his court-ordered conditions, police say. Those conditions prohibit the accused from possessing any firearms, crossbows, restricted weapons, ammunition and explosive substances for life.
A 36-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
