Pre-birthing tours offered at CKHA

As they prepare for childbirth, expectant parents are being offered a first-hand look at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Women and Children’s Unit.

To that end, hospital volunteers are providing in-person tours to familiarize them with the unit’s layout and other associated services and amenities in an effort to help ease anxiety and provide a sense of comfort.

Patient experience and communications director Fannie Vavoulis said the tours will help parents prepare for the arrival of their newborn.

“Partnering with our dedicated volunteers allows us to offer a welcoming, personal experience that reflects CKHA’s purpose, ‘Our Focus is You,’” Vavoulis said in a media release. “Tours of our Women & Children’s Unit is an important step in supporting families as they prepare for one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.”

Parents can now learn more about available dates and times and sign up online by visiting https://www.ckha.on.ca/hospital-services/women-children/women-children-unit-tours/  or call (519) 352-6400 ext. 6486.
