A Saturday fall motorcycle ride took a fatal turn for a Charing Cross man.
Police say the rider, 78, struck a piece of furniture that fell off a vehicle on Talbot Trail about 2:30 p.m.
The collision sent the rider, 78 into a ditch and ultimately into a tree. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital but did not survive.
Police closed the roadway near the site of the accident, which was near the intersection of Bloomfield Road, as they investigated.
A 67-year-old Blenheim woman has been identified as the operator of this motor vehicle in which the furniture had fallen off from.
