Police say a drunken man became more and more belligerent on the weekend, even scuffling with a police officer, not once, but twice. That earned the suspect numerous charges.
It began Sunday evening. Ultimately, police were called shortly before midnight to a Chatham residence.
A man, police say, became aggressive and was threatening others while intoxicated.
Surveillance footage captured the man throwing a weapon, police say.
And when officers arrived, police say the man assaulted an officer and resisted.
A Chatham man, 53, was charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
But, apparently, he wasn’t done. Police say that while in lockup, he went off again, earning another charge of assaulting a peace officer.
