Throughout the month of September, local residents can have their say about policing.
That’s thanks to the 2026 Chatham-Kent Police Service community survey running until Sept. 30.
In a media statement, Chief Kirk Earley stressed the importance of community engagement.
“This survey is an important opportunity for us to hear directly from the people we serve,” Earley said. “Your feedback helps us better understand community expectations, inform future planning, and identify where we should focus our efforts. By listening and learning together, we can continue to provide responsive, professional and community-focused policing for Chatham-Kent.”
According to the CKPS media release, the survey is being undertaken by a third party, ensuring confidentiality. Police do not have access to individual responses or participant identities. In addition, some residents may receive a telephone call from the survey provider requesting participation.
Community feedback plays a vital role in shaping the priorities of the police service, guides service improvements and promotes a better understanding of the needs and expectations of residents, the release stated.
Everyone is encouraged to participate by sharing their experiences, perspectives and suggestions. The survey also provides an opportunity to recognized and commend CKPS members whose commitment has made a positive difference in their lives.
