B&E leads to charges

Police have arrested one man and are looking for a woman in connection to a recent break-in in Wallaceburg.

Police say the two broke into a James Street residence on Aug. 28.

Officers learned that surveillance footage captured two individuals inside the residence earlier that morning.

The complainant, a 31-year-old Wallaceburg woman, reported that several items were stolen.

Officers saw signs of forced entry through a basement window.

Police formed grounds to arrest both individuals. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the individuals for break and enter, theft, and possession of stolen property.

On Sunday evening, police located one suspect, a 40-year-old Walpole Island man.

During the arrest, officers also discovered drugs in the individual’s possession, resulting in an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Police continue to search for 31-year-old Port Lambton woman.
