Crash claims a second life

Another teenager has succumbed to her injuries in the wake of a boating accident last week on Lake St. Clair.

On Aug. 14, at about 2 p.m., a personal watercraft slammed into a steel breakwall just west of Lighthouse Cove. Reports say the craft was towing an inflatable.

One teen, 17, of Windsor-Essex County, died of her injuries later that day in hospital.

A second, a 16-year-old girl from Calgary, passed away from her injuries on Wednesday, police say.

Two other girls, aged 15 and 17, suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

The OPP’s investigators ask that anyone who has any information on this investigation to contact Lakeshore OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
