B&E arrest in ’Burg
He fled on foot one day, but was arrested the next.
That’s the reality for a local man who police allege broke into a storage container Aug. 15 at a property on King Street in Wallaceburg.
Police were called about 9:45 a.m. to a local business. Surveillance shows a man forced his way into a storage container and made off with several items.
Officers identified the suspect through surveillance footage, police say, and went to knock on his door.
When they did, police say the man turned rabbit and fled on foot.
However, on Aug. 16, officers tracked him down and gave him a free ride in the back of a police cruiser.
A 46-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with break and enter to commit theft, theft, and possession of stolen property.

Officers investigated, saw the property damage and quickly had a suspect in mind. Then again, sending threats via text message does tend to leave a trail of virtual bread crumbs.
