
A local man is in custody facing numerous charges after police say someone broke into a Chatham home, assaulted two people and threatened another.
The call to police came in about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night. Officers learned a man had entered the residence without permission, and threatened a woman before assaulting two other people with a weapon, police say.
The accused is bound by a probation order with conditions, police say, which include not being allowed to possess weapons of any kind.
A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit an indictable offense, uttering death threats, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
