A man is in custody after someone sprayed an employee with a noxious substance in a Chadtham store early Monday evening.
The robbery took place about 6:15 p.m. Chatham-Kent police declined to disclose the location.
A man approached a 22-year-old employee and sprayed him with a what police say was a noxious substance.
The victim was able to get into a secure area of the store, but the suspect accessed the cash register, police say.
Officers were able to identify the suspect using surveillance footage.
On Tuesday, police made their arrest.
A 36-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with robbery with violence.
