Bike tossed at police cruiser

A man faces charges after allegedly throwing his bicycle at a Chatham-Kent police vehicle.

Police say the situation unfolded on Taylor Avenue in Chatham. An officer went to pull over the cyclist for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

According to police, the suspect refused to identify himself to the officer and then chucked his bike at the cop car.

Following a brief struggle, the suspect was arrested.

A 45-year-old man is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing police.

Man arrested for peeing in public

A Durham man faces charges after someone was spotted taking a leak off the Third Street Bridge in Chatham, while also holding a beer, on the weekend.

Police say when officers approached him, the man refused to comply with their commands, and resisted arrest.

The officers flagged him as armed and dangerous.

A 28-year-old Durham man is charged with committing an indecent act and resisting arrest.

Despite the fact police say a man is charged with assaulting police, the Chatham-Kent Police Service released few details on the matter.

Threats on Third Street

A woman faces charges for uttering threats and trespassing after an incident at a Third Street business on the weekend.

Police say she was asked to leave from the business shortly before 8 p.m., and refused. She also threatened to jump the counter and hurt a staff member.

A 46-year-old woman faces charges for two counts of uttering threats and one of trespassing.
