Pedestrian struck in Chatham
A Chatham man is in hospital in London after being hit by a vehicle Saturday in Chatham
Police say the accident took place about 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the intersection of Richmond and Lacroix streets.
When responding officers arrived on scene, they located a man who had appeared to be struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway on Richmond Street.
The 52-year-old Chatham man suffered serious injuries due to the collision and was airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment.
Car slams into shed
One man faces charges after someone drove their vehicle into a shed shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The homeowner woke to a loud crash outside their residence on Donais Line near Tilbury. It was found that a car had left the roadway, gone through a fence and into a large shed.
Two of the three occupants of the vehicle attempted to leave and were stopped by the homeowner, police say.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the three occupants of the car. They opted to charge the driver with impaired.
A 37-year-old Blenheim man faces impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charges.
Total damages were in excess of $40,000 and the vehicle’s occupants suffered only minor injuries.
Disturbance call leads to charges
A Wallaceburg mab faces charges following an early morning call to Chatham-Kent police.
Officers arrived at the Margaret Avenue residence shortly after 1 a.m. Monday.
Police say the call involved an altercation between a man and a woman. The man had been previously released on conditions to not be around the Margaret Street Wallaceburg address or the occupant.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on intimate partner violence charges. During a check, it was found the man had also had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on a separate charge.
B&E at vet clinic
Police are looking for whoever broke into the Chatham-Kent Veterinary Clinic in Chatham on the weekend.
Officers received the call about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The officers arrived and saw the front door of the business had been smashed in. However, it appears that nothing was taken from the business and no one was in the area at the time of police contact.
