$140K in cable stolen

Chatham-Kent police are seeking suspects in an overnight break-in to a compound on Borrowman Street in Chatham.

The thieves, whom police believe may have used two vehicles, stole an estimated 5,000 kg of primary cable, valued at a reported $140,000.

Thieves ransack home under construction

Sometime overnight on Monday, someone got into a home under construction on Bloomington Way in Chatham.

Police say they damaged property and stole various tools.

Man brandishes knife, charged

A local man faces charges following a weekend altercation on King Street West in Chatham.

Police say one of the people involved brandished a knife.

The male involved fled on police arrival.

A 21-year old male was located shortly thereafter and arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing a police officer and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
