Man threatens another’s daughter

A Chatham man has to answer to charges after Chatham-Kent police say he threatened to harm a woman’s daughter Monday evening.

Police got the call just after 9 p.m. to meet with the victim on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Officers learned the man approached the victim and stated he was going to harm the victim’s daughter while making a threatening gesture, police say. It turns out that the man was on conditions not to communicate with the victim or her daughter.

Officers located the man walking southbound on St. Clair Street and arrested him.

An 18-year-old Chatham man was charged with uttering threats, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Drive-thru/dive-thru/arrest

A Wallaceburg man spent the night in the drunk tank after some very strange behaviour early Tuesday morning.

Police go the call shortly after 1 a.m. to attend a McNaughton Avenue address in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.

Police say the man had jumped in and out of vehicles and through the drive-thru window at the McDonald’s in Wallaceburg.

Police found the springy fellow and determined he was drunk.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held until sober.

Missed court dates

A disturbance in Wallaceburg Monday afternoon led to Chatham-Kent police scooping up a local man on another charge.

Police got the call shortly after 3:45 p.m. of a fracas on Willis Street.

Officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing. The man facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order, failing to attend court, two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Fixing a bike chain drew attention, and for that, police grabbed a local woman Wednesday evening for missing her court date.

At 8:54 p.m., officer began investigating suspicious activity in an alleyway on Joseph Street in Chatham.

Officers located two women fixing a bicycle chain. Further investigation revealed one of the women was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 32-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was released with conditions and a future court date. The woman faces the following charges: fraud, two counts of theft, three counts of possession of stolen property and five counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.
