Booze consumed, window punched

Chatham-Kent police say officers arrested a drunken teenager Thursday evening after she punched a window and pushed someone.

At 7:40 p.m., police responded to Running Creek in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.

Through investigation, officers learned an argument between two people escalated when the woman punched a window of the residence and pushed the victim. The woman was found to be intoxicated.

An 18-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with assault and mischief. She was transported to police headquarter and held until sober.

Skipped court dates

A morning traffic stop led to charges against a local man and woman.

At 9:13 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Thames Street in Chatham.

Investigation revealed the man was bound by a release order not to communicate or associate with the woman he was with.

Both were also wanted on outstanding warrants. The man and woman were arrested and transported to police headquarters, where they were held for a bail hearing.

A 38-year-old Harwich Township man currently faces the following charges: failing to comply with an undertaking, carrying a concealed weapon, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device/ammo, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a prohibited device, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of failing to comply with a release order and six counts of possession of a firearm/ammo contrary to a prohibition order.

A 45-year-old Chatham woman currently faces the following charges: Impaired driving, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device/ammo, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a prohibited device, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to appear in court and failing to comply with a release order.

A sleeping Wallaceburg man got a bit of a wakeup call Thursday in Wallaceburg.

At 1:41 p.m., police responded to Duke Street in Wallaceburg for a well-being check of a man unconscious under a tree.

Officers arrived and found the man sleeping. Further investigation revealed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court related to several investigations. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg man currently faces the following charges: Unauthorized use of a credit card, careless storage of a firearm/weapon/ammo, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of failing to attend court, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of fraud.
