Two arrested inside stolen vehicle

Not long after learning a vehicle had been stolen in Chatham Tuesday morning, Chatham-Kent police not only found the vehicle, but two suspects inside it.

The report came in about 8 a.m. that a vehicle was stolen on William Street North in Chatham. Officers found the vehicle a short time later in Chatham.

A 33-year-old Chatham man and a 26-year-old Chatham woman are charged possession of stolen property.

Both parties were also found to be subject to several outstanding bench warrants for failing to attend court in relation to separate matters.

B&E in Chatham

Wannabe thieves damaged vehicles recently at Junctura Construction in Chatham.

Police report that sometime between Jan. 27 and 28, someone forced their way into the fenced-in Junctura compound on Maple Leave Drive.

Once inside, these suspects damaged several work vehicles while attempting to locate any property of value, police say. The total damage sustained is estimated at approximately $3,000.
