Assault suspect arrested

Chatham-Kent police scooped up a suspect they had sought since November in connection with an assault.

On Thursday, about 12:30 p.m., they made the arrest on Grand Avenue West.

A 67-year-old Chatham man was charged with uttering threats, assault with intent to resist arrest, assaulting a police officer and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Domestic abuse

Police arrested a Windsor man Thursday in Ridgetown in connection with a bail violation.

They got the call about 4:45 p.m. to attend a Jane Street residence in Ridgetown.

Upon arrival, officers learned the court released the man on Dec. 14, 2022, with conditions prohibiting him from attending the Jane Street address.

The man was found at the front door of the residence and arrested.

A 49-year-old Windsor man is charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Disturbing behaviour leads to arrest 

A local man faces charges through the Chatham-Kent police and the OPP.

At 8:43 p.m. Thursday evening, police attended a residential building on London Road in Thamesville for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man involved in the disturbance was wanted in a shoplifting investigation and wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the OPP.

A 41-year-old Howard Township man was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was released into the hands of the OPP.

Breach of conditions

A Thamesville woman spent more time behind bars Thursday.

Police say their received information of the woman’s location about 1 p.m. Thursday. She was wanted for breaching a conditional sentence order, police say.

Officers went to an address on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and located the woman. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

A 46-year-old Thamesville woman was held pending a bail hearing.
