Bad crashes on Bloomfield Rd.

A Ridgetown man is in critical condition in hospital following a pair of accidents on the Bloomfield Road overpass crossing Highway 401.

The crashes took place Saturday at about 3:30 a.m. Two of the involved motor vehicles were travelling in opposite directions over the 401 overpass when they collided.

Shortly after, a third vehicle came over the overpass and struck one of the vehicles, causing a second collision.

A 37-year-old Ridgetown man was transported to the hospital for medical attention where he remains in critical condition. Family members have been notified.

The Chatham-Kent police traffic unit is currently investigating the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Joel Rehill at joelr@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 ext. 84994.

He went there

Despite two probation orders intended to steer a man away from a specific address in Chatham, police say he went there Saturday night.

On May 29 and Aug. 23, the man entered into two probation orders before the courts with conditions to not attend that address in Chatham. However, on Saturday night around 11:15 p.m., police were called to the address after the report of the man attending the residence. Police arrived on scene and located the man inside.

A 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his probation orders.
