Angry outburst leads to charges

A local woman is facing charges after someone chased a person around a city bus Tuesday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police say they got the call shortly after 1:30 p.m. to an address on Wellington Street West in Chatham for a threats investigation.

Police learned the victim was assisting another person onto a city bus when a woman began aggressively walking towards the victim, yelling. The woman chased the victim around the bus, police say, yelling threats before the victim could find safety.

The woman was located a short distance away by an officer and arrested.

A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with assault and uttering threats. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Wanted no more

Chatham-Kent police report they found a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant related to an April assault investigation.

Police say officers located the woman just before 2 p.m. Tuesday on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

The officers confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to an April 22 assault investigation from Winter Line Road in Dover Township.

A 29-year-old Chatham woman was charged with assault with a weapon.

Missed court date

A Walpole Island man turned himself into Chatham-Kent police Tuesday morning to answer for not attending court recently.

Police say the man walked into the Wallaceburg station about 11:20 a.m.

He was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a fraud investigation.

A 25-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
