Car smacks into building; driver charged

One person had to be taken to hospital early this morning after a vehicle slammed into a building on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say the crash took place around 1 a.m. Friday morning.

Police learned the vehicle collided with the building, which resulted in significant property damage and physical injury to the passenger.

The passenger was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

A 53-year-old Ridgetown man was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He just couldn’t let it go

A Wallaceburg man faces charges after someone just didn’t listen to police instructions.

According to Chatham-Kent police, an officer was dispatched shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday evening to Elgin Street in Wallaceburg for a harassment investigation.

Police learned while the victim was taking out his garbage, the man stopped his vehicle and began yelling at him. The man had been cautioned several times previously by the officer to cease all communication with the victim.

A 42-year-old Wallaceburg man was located, arrested, and charged with criminal harassment.
