Indecent exposure

A Tilbury man has to answer to charges after someone exposed themselves in public Wednesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say they got a call shortly after 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning of a report of an indecent act on Queen Street South in Tilbury.

As police arrived, the officer observed the man buttoning up his pants, police say. The officer also confirmed he was wanted on a warrant related to a criminal harassment investigation.

A 26-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and charged with indecent acts and criminal harassment.

Taser time 

Chatham-Kent police officers had to use a “conducted energy weapon” early this morning to slow down a suspect.

Police say officers on general patrol spotted a man acting suspiciously just before 4 a.m. on Chatham Street South in Harwich Township.

When approached by officers, the man fled the area, police say. After a short foot chase, the man was located. A conducted energy weapon was utilized to gain compliance and take the man into custody.

Upon a search incident to arrest, stolen credit cards and suspected cocaine were found on him.

A 40-year-old Blenheim man was transported to police headquarters and charged with trespassing at night, break and enter, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

Mailbox mischief

What did the mailbox ever do to him?

That’s the question a Blenheim man will have to answer in court after an arrest Wednesday for mischief charges.

Police say they received a call Wednesday evening for a report of damage done to a mailbox on Middle Line in Harwich Township

Police learned over the past couple of months that the man damaged the victim’s mailbox several times using various motorized vehicles, such as a golf cart and a tractor.

A 37-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with four counts of mischief.

Crash leads to impaired charge

A Port Lambton man faces impaired driving charges following a crash in Wallaceburg early this morning.

At 12:24 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police arrived on the scene and located the vehicle.

The officer believed the man to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.

The man was transported to the Ontario Provincial Police Petrolia Detachment for breath tests.

While at the police station, police say the man refused to provide a breath sample.

A 38-year-old Port Lambton man was charged with impaired driving and refusal to comply with a demand.
