Funny money charges

Chatham-Kent police report the attempted use of counterfeit money in Chatham on Thursday.

A woman attempted to make a purchase at a local convenience store in Chatham with the counterfeit money, police say. The worker kept the money and contacted police.

A woman was located outside of the store and was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit money and utter counterfeit money.

Stolen vehicle recovered, woman charged

A woman faces charges after Chatham-Kent police found her in a stolen vehicle.

A citizen contacted police about a suspicious vehicle and driver in the area of Queen Street North in Tilbury on Thursday. Police located the vehicle and a woman.

The vehicle was found to be stolen from Essex area the day prior.

The woman was placed under arrest.
