Assault charges

A Chatham woman faces charges following a Tuesday night scuffle.

Chatham-Kent police received a call shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday. They responded to Park Avenue East in Chatham for an assault investigation. 

Through investigation, police learned a verbal argument the night before escalated when the woman pushed and shoved the victim. 

A 58-year-old Chatham woman was located and arrested. She was transported to police headquarters and charged with assault. 

Drill theft

A local man faces charges after someone tried to walk out of a business Wednesday night with a couple of drills. 

At 7:49 p.m., police responded to a business on Pioneer Line in Chatham for a theft investigation.

Police learned a man removed two drills from the shelf and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The man was located on St. Clair Street and arrested.

A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with theft and possessing stolen property.
