Man gives false identity to cops

A morning visit by Chatham-Kent police did not end well for a local man.

At 7:24 a.m., police responded to Bedford Street for an unwanted person.

Upon arrival, police located the man in the driveway. The man provided officers with false identification, police say.

When his correct identity was confirmed, police learned he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

The man was arrested, and upon a search incident to arrest, he was found possessing suspected fentanyl.

A 40-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with obstructing the police and possessing a controlled substance.

Theft charges

Another Chatham-Kent man got scooped up Tuesday morning.

At 10:13 a.m., police responded to Poplar Street in Chatham for suspicious activity.

Police arrived on the scene and located the man. Officers confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a theft investigation.

A 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. He was released with a future court date.

Woman faces domestic-related charges

A Windsor woman has to answer to numerous charges following a domestic disturbance in Thamesville on Wednesday.

At 10:50 a.m., police responded to Ferguson Street in Thamesville for a domestic dispute investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the couple had engaged in a verbal altercation the evening before, which escalated when one struck and made comments about harming the other.

A 41-year-old Windsor woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats and two counts of assault.
