A London man faces a variety of charges following a car chase with Chatham-Kent police in East Kent, and a foot chase in Chatham.

Early Monday morning, just before 3 a.m., emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Poplar Street in Chatham.

Police arrived on the scene and confirmed the vehicle was stolen from London and was the same vehicle officers attempted to stop at 2:32 a.m. on Clachan Road north of Bothwell.

The driver fled the scene on foot before police arrival.

At 3:11 a.m., police also received a call of someone knocking on the window of a Cornhill Street home. After a foot chase and the deployment of K9 Helix, the man was found and arrested.

A 25-year-old man in London was charged with flight from police, mischief, possession of stolen property, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a license.  He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
