Threats made, teen charged

A Wheatley teenager is facing charges after someone received a threatening phone call recently

Chatham-Kent police say the victim received the call May 17.  

Through investigation, police learned the victim received a phone call from a youth. During the conversation, the youth commented on harming the victim.

On Monday, the youth attended the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in.

A 15-year-old Wheatley youth was charged with uttering threats.

Skipped court date

A disturbance call on Monday evening led to charges against a Chatham man.

At 8:38 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police located a man and confirmed he was wanted on outstanding warrants. The warrants were related to bail violations.

A 43-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to attend court. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
