Assault in Tilbury

A Tilbury woman faces multiple charges following an outburst at a property in downtown Chatham Monday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police investigated and say the woman assaulted two staff members as they attempted to remove her from the property, as she had already been trespassed.

A 31-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.  She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Light fingers lead to charges

On Monday evening just before 8 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham.

Officers located the suspect a short distance away and he was taken into custody.  Through investigation, police learned that the man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.  

A 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with his probation order. 

Traffic stop leads to arrest

A Chatham woman faces several charges following an early morning traffic stop in Chatham.

Around 2:30 a.m.Tuesday morning, officers on general patrol conducted the traffic stop on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Through investigation, officers learned that one of the passengers was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the driver.  

Upon being searched, incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

A 52-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and drug possession.
