Woman threatened at knifepoint

A Wallaceburg man is facing multiple charges after someone threatened a woman while holding a knife shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

Chatham-Kent police responded to Montgomery Crescent in Wallaceburg for a domestic disturbance at 12:46 a.m.

Through investigation, police learned the man and woman verbally argued. The argument escalated when the man picked up a knife and held it threateningly while making a threatening comment, police say.

A 48-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

Stolen truck recovered, three arrested

Three men face charges in connection to a stolen truck on the weekend.

Chatham-Kent police say someone made off with a 2014 Silver Chevy Silverado from a residence on Northwood Line in Harwich Township on Saturday.

However, it appears the quest for fuel led to the alleged thieves’ undoing.

On Sunday, just before 3 p.m., police responded to Fairview Line for a suspicious vehicle investigation.

Police received information the vehicle was stopped at the corner of Harwich Line and Fairview Line. The three men driving the vehicle were at a home on Harwich line looking for fuel, police say.

Officers arrived on the scene, arrested all three men, and transported them to police headquarters.

Based on video surveillance from the original incident and witness observations, the police formed grounds for various charges.

A 27-year-old London man was charged with possession of stolen property.

A 26-year-old Raleigh Township man was charged with theft of the motor vehicle, possessing the stolen property, and breaking and entering.

And a 31-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with possession of stolen property.
