Collision leads to charges

A Wallaceburg man faces charges following a collision Thursday morning on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police got the call around 7 a.m.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. He also provided a false name to police. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 22-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with obstructing a police officer, operation while impaired, driving while under suspension, driving while prohibited, and refusing to comply with demand. The man was held until sober then released with a future court date.

B&E in Wallaceburg

Sometime Wednesday night between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., someone forced their way into a business on James Street in Wallaceburg. Once inside, they stole numerous tools.

Car, trailer recovered

On Thursday around 2:30 p.m., police recovered a stolen trailer from Windsor and a stolen car from Chatham on Knights Line in Blenheim.

The owners of both the trailer and car were notified. Arrangements were also made for the property to be returned to them.

A 53-year-old Chatham man was located in possession of the stolen property and charged.
