On Monday, members of Walpole Island Police Service made an arrest in connection with the death of two cyclists earlier this summer on the First Nation.
On June 22, shortly before 5 a.m., two cyclists were hit by a vehicle on River Road on Walpole Island. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, meanwhile, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
On Monday, police charged a 22-year-old Walpole Island man with two counts each of impaired causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
