Man threatens woman with chainsaw
A Thamesville man has to answer to several charges after someone chased after a woman with a running chainsaw in Dresden Thursday night.
Chatham-Kent police got the call about 8 p.m. of a disturbance at a home near Dresden.
Through investigation, police learned a man and woman engaged in a verbal altercation.
The woman left the residence for her safety. As the woman approached her vehicle, the man exited the house with a running chain saw, waving it in a threatening manner, police say.
Officers also learned the man had damaged the woman’s windshield in a previous incident, police say.
The man was located and arrested without incident.
A 33-year-old Thamesville man was charged with mischief, uttering threats, and weapons dangerous. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Domestic abuse
Shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance on Richmond Street in Dresden.
Police learned a man attended the woman’s home and the two engaged in a verbal argument.
The argument escalated into a physical altercation when the woman assaulted the man, police say.
A 48-year-old Dresden woman was arrested and charged with assault.
