Breach of conditions

Chatham-Kent police say after nearly 10 months of sticking with his conditions, a man breached them recently, and was arrested as a result.

In mid-August of last year, the court released the man with conditions to participate in the Bail Supervision Program at the John Howard Society, police say.

On June 8, he failed to make his appointment. Attempts to contact the man were unsuccessful, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Wednesday at 7 a.m., police say the man turned himself in. The 48-year-old man was held pending a bail hearing.

Skipped court date

A second local man turned himself into police yesterday.

Police say the man was arrested in early April and released with a court date later that month.

He didn’t show, police say, and a warrant was issued.

On Wednesday morning, the 21-year-old Camden township man turned himself in to police. He was released with a new court date.

Warrant woes

Less than eight hours after the courts issued a warrant for a man’s arrest, officers scooped him up in Blenheim.

Police say the warrant went out just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Shortly after 5 p.m., officers spotted the man on Talbot Street East in Blenheim.

A 31-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was later turned over to the Ontario Provincial Police and transported to the South West Regional Detention Centre.
