Assault
A Blenheim man faces assault charges following a scrap on Hannibal Street in Blenheim on Father’s Day.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance on Hannibal Street in Blenheim.
Through investigation, police learned two men had been in a physical altercation on the property. One man was determined to be the aggressor and arrested.
A 22-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and assault.
Trying to force a bail violation?
On Sunday night at about 6:30 p.m., police began investigating a bail violation.
Through investigation, police learned a man was on conditions not to communicate with a woman.
The man was walking on Park Avenue in Chatham, and the woman was following him. It was determined the man was actively trying to avoid the woman.
Police located the woman and arrested her for facilitating a breach of conditions. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date.
The conditions included not communicating with the man or attending any place he is known to live or work.
About four hours later, police received another call in regard to the matter. In fact, they were called to the man’s home in Chatham. Police learned the woman walked into the home uninvited, breaching her conditions. She was located and arrested.
A 48-year-old Chatham woman was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
Bail violation
At the end of May, a woman was released with conditions not to communicate with several people due to a criminal harassment investigation.
On Sunday, Chatham-Kent police began an investigation into a breach of these conditions. It was determined the woman had attended the residence and contacted a woman named in the release order.
Last night, the woman was located and arrested for failing to comply with the undertaking. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
