Uhh, that’s not your ride, pal

Shortly after 1 a.m. this morning, Chatham-Kent police say a man was observed operating a pick-up truck on Merritt Avenue in Chatham.

The truck was reported stolen from the Windsor area.

Police conducted a traffics stop and arrested a 42-year-old man for being in possession of stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Theft, drug charges

On Tuesday, shortly before noon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a theft of a bicycle from a residence on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

A surveillance camera captured the theft. Still images of the suspect were provided to police.

Sometime later, police observed the suspect on Lacroix Street in Chatham. The suspect ran from police, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. Subsequent to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

A 25-year-old man was charged with theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
