Break and enter

Saturday morning, police responded to a business on Llewelyn Street in Chatham. 

Sometime overnight an unknown person smashed a window to the building and took a Stihl chainsaw valuing approximately $1,400 from inside. 

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Domestic disturbance 

Saturday afternoon, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham. 

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old male was arrested for Assault with a Weapon. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date of March 23, 2022.

Bail violations

Saturday night, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business on Queen Street in Chatham. 

Through investigation, it was found that the female involved was on conditions not to attend the business. 

As a result, a 37-year-old female was arrested for Failing to Comply with her Release Order and released with a future court date.

Warrant arrests

Yesterday afternoon, police were on general patrol in the area of Patteson Avenue in Chatham. 

Officers located a man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. 

A 36-year-old Chatham man of no fixed address was arrested and has been held custody pending a bail hearing.

Yesterday afternoon, police located a man in Wallaceburg who was wanted for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A 25-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Early this morning, police were on general patrol in the area of Forhan Street in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, police learned the man was wanted for Theft and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. 

A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and released with a future court date.

Saturday morning, an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male in the area of Adelaide Street who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Failing to Attend. 

The 27-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date.

Saturday morning, police responded to a call at a residence on Orchard Heights in Chatham.

Through investigation a male at the residence was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Failing to Attend. 

The 56-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date.

Saturday night, police responded to a residence on Richmond Street in Chatham as it was being reported that there was a male at the location that was known to be wanted on a warrant for two counts of Domestic Assault. 

Police attended and located the male. 

The 21-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking. The male was later released with a future court date. 

Break and Enter in Chatham                                                                               Sometime since Feb. 18, someone forced their way into the garage of a residence in Chatham. 

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a lawnmower. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $250.
