A $1,224 windfall is on its way to the United Way of Chatham-Kent, courtesy of a new OLG virtual promotion.
The money collected is part of the Collecting for the Community drive happening across Ontario.
OLG’s goal through the initiative is to raise $120,000 to support the United Way in a number of Ontario communities.
The fundraiser was launched last summer, with the OLG kicking in $50,000 towards the effort.
The effort saw players 18 and over that visited CollectingfortheCommunity.ca take part in a free activity. Through their participation they could secure funding for their local United Way.
In addition to the $50,000 contributed to the promotion, the OLG’s employee-driven 2021 United Way fundraising effort raised $70,000.
