Two charged, drugs seized

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit, with assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, raided a home on Mary Street in Chatham Wednesday.

Two people were arrested and approximately $10,400 worth of fentanyl was seized.

Canadian currency, a set of digital scales and packaging materials were also seized.

A 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with his release conditions.

A 29-year-old Chatham woman faces a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Assault causing bodily harm

Shortly before 10 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance at a Grand Avenue West residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned the man had assaulted a woman and a man.

A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Vehicle stop leads to charges

Last night, shortly after 7 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Reaume Street in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the driver, a 54-year-old Chatham man, was arrested and charged under the Cannabis Control Act.

The passenger, a 50-year-old Chatham man, was arrested and charged with obstruct police, possession of prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of failing to comply with release conditions.
