Officer assaulted

Perhaps a trip to jail calmed down a Wallaceburg woman Monday night.

Last night at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to a person causing a disturbance in the area of Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

While investigating the incident, a police officer was assaulted by the person.

A 51-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested for one count of mischief and one count of assault. She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Breach

Chatham-Kent police say a woman communicated on Monday with a person she knew was on conditions not to communicate with her.

Police investigated and subsequently arrested the 29-year-old Chatham woman with facilitating a breach of conditions.

Breach

Back in late November, the man was released by the court on conditions including not to communicate with the victim and to not attend their residence.

Yesterday evening at approximately 6 p.m., police learned the man had breached both of these conditions.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release order.
