Animals stolen from local zoo

Greenview Aviaries is missing a lemur.

Also unaccounted for are a squirrel monkey, a red Eclectus parrot, a lime-green Eclectus parrot and two umbrella cockatoos.

According to Chatham-Kent police, that’s the list of exotic animals that have been stolen from the Morpeth-area zoo last fall.

Police say the thefts occurred in three separate incidents between Oct. 2021 and Nov. 2021. Unknown suspects are said to have forced their way into buildings on the property, swiping the birds and animals from their home.
