Debris clogging the Thames River in Chatham

Tons of debris washed downstream by heavy rains this week have logjammed at the chokepoint of the Thames River in downtown Chatham: The Third Street Bridge.

The bridge is under reconstructions, and the river is significantly narrowed as a result.

Offiicals fear the barge platform could become unstable.

Potential damage to wooden forms for the concrete support structure could delay the completion of the project.
