Chatham Lions Club members Michaelanne Kerrigan and Cynthia Hiatt collect a donation to shred personal documents at the service club’s shredding fundraiser Sunday at Maple City Storage. The club raised close to $1,400.

The Chatham Lions have some added funds to help this in need following a weekend document shredding fundraiser.

Members of the club teamed up with Iron Mountain to host the shredding event Sunday at Maple City Storage on Queens Line just west of Chatham.

Close to 40 vehicles stopped off to drop off documents for shredding at the event, with donations reaching $1,380.

All funds raised will go back into the community.

Lions officials said the event allowed them to follow COVID-19 pandemic protocols while at the same time raising funds and help prevent identity theft.
