Two more C-K residents die from COVID

A Chatham-Kent man and woman died over the holiday weekend after testing positive for COVID-19.

The man in his 70s passed away on Monday and the woman in her 50s died on Friday.

The local death toll from the pandemic now sits at 12. An additional six individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 have died but from other causes.

On Tuesday CK Public Health reported that one local resident remains hospitalized with the virus.

Four new cases were also reported, bringing the cumulative total up to 1,660. Four individuals also recovered, bringing the active total down to 71.

There were no new outbreaks declared on Tuesday. Three workplaces still remain in active outbreak status, affecting a total of nine individuals. Hudson Manor Retirement Residence in Tilbury and Meadow Park Chatham long-term care home have three active cases between the two outbreaks.
