Knife attack

Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance between two brothers at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in a youth assaulting his older brother with a kitchen knife.

The 18-year-old victim was transported by EMS to the hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old youth fled the scene prior to police arrival, however, was located a short time later and taken into custody.

The youth has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for break and enter. The youth remains in police custody.

B&E charges

Yesterday morning, a man entered a motel room in Wallaceburg and stole a cell phone, wallet and cash.

Through investigation, the man was located and the stolen property was recovered.

The man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for breach of probation.

A 34-year-old Raleigh Township man was arrested and charged with break and enter, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and failing to comply with his Probation Order.

Failing to comply

Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious man and woman near a store on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police located the pair outside in the parking lot and learned that the man was wanted for domestic related offences and failing to attend court.

A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and additionally charged with failing to comply as he was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Warrants

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of Richmond and Queen Street in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was wanted for robbery, theft and failing to attend court.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing. He was released with a future court date.

Early this morning, police located a man who was wanted for failing to attend court to provide a DNA sample.

A 39-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a Court Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
