Standing water is building up on Erie Shore Drive and sections of the road have seen flooding on Friday, which is expected to last into the weekend.
One resident was seen on the road clearing the clogged spillways with a shovel to alleviate some on the water build up.
Freezing temperature have also caused icy wave spray. Floodwaters may freeze, creating icy and dangerous conditions on the road itself.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is asking that all non-essential traffic should avoid the area to ensure emergency services can access the area if required.
