Assault, sexual assault charges

A Blenheim man faces a numerous charges stemming from domestic violence.

On Saturday, a verbal argument between a couple in Harwich Township escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the man assaulting the woman, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Through investigation, police learned that the man had previously threatened the woman during their relationship.

In a separate incident, police learned that the man was also exchanging crystal methamphetamine for sexual favours with a young teenage girl.

Last night, a 47-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, two counts of assault, sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Tools stolen in Morpeth 

Sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Furnace Street and stole a DeWalt cordless weed wacker and Stihl chainsaw. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $600.

Two vehicles stolen in Wheatley

Yesterday morning around 11 a.m., police responded to the report of a suspicious black Ford F-150 truck parked and unattended on the side of Coatsworth Road near 3rd Concession Line.

Through investigation, police learned that the truck had been stolen from GNG Auto Sales on Talbot Trail.

Inside the truck were also stolen tools from the business.

Officers attended GNG Auto Sales and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred sometime between Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. Approximately $20,000 worth of tools were stolen along with an unplated red 2007 Dodge Charger with black rear spoiler and aluminum sport rims.

B&E, crops damaged 

Sometime during the nights of Sept. 25-26, someone drove through a cornfield on Muirkirk Line causing approximately $1000 damage.

They then entered a barn located on the property they arrived at and attempted to steal gas from the pumps located inside, however, they were unsuccessful. There was nothing reported taken at this time.

Drug charges

Saturday afternoon, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an off-duty officer observed a man wanted on several warrants inside a local business on Keil Drive in Chatham.

The man was followed to another nearby business where additional officers arrived and placed the man under arrest.

Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl in which he was charged accordingly.

Also during the search, the male was in possession of property that was identified as stolen from the business he had just attended.

A 50-year old man of no fixed address was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Threats with a golf club 

On Saturday, just before 5 p.m., police were called to an apartment building in Dresden regarding a disturbance.

After investigation, Police determined that a man that lived in the building had been threatening people with a golf club and had also smashed a window.

A 33-year old Dresden man was arrested and charged with mischief and two counts of uttering threats.

B&E

On Saturday, police responded to an address on Church Street in Ridgetown in regards to a break and enter.

Through investigation it was revealed that sometime the night before, unknown suspects forced their way into a garage and stole a 2014 Yamaha Enduro motorcycle valued at $4,000. There are currently no suspects at this time.
